Healthy Eating Habits

Free school midday meal plans in different countries with a goal to help the poor children. A pilot study has been conducted at the period when free school meals were provided. Results showed that at a global level, these children had good academic improvements than other students who took home meals. Lunch time is the ideal time when a child gets a chance to follow habits of other children. Under the monitoring of the teachers, the children deliberately increase vegetables and fruits intake.

Till 19th century in most of the Southeast Asian, African countries people cooked in specific ways to retain all vital nutrients of grains and vegetables. They consumed whole grains, vegetables and palm sugar etc from their own and neighboring farms. Farm animals took nutritious forage, and they avoided chemical injections to increase milk production. Hence dairy products and meat were also free from harmful chemicals. Processed foods were rare and their food was pure due to traditional farming practices.

After industrialization people moved to cities and urbanization affected children heavily.  When Green House Gas Emissions increased, protecting earth and humanity became an important issue. Harmful residues were found with increased usage of chemicals for pesticides and insecticides even in ground water that triggered various chronic and acute health conditions.

Health surveys were conducted in different countries to study the effect of diet on diseases. In Australia, poor diet choices are associated with many chronic diseases. Their onset is steadily increasing in other advanced countries such as USA and UK. Increase of diseases were found to be due to poor diet especially large quantity of energy-dense foods. These were with high saturated fat, sugar and salt content. In these conditions, there are low intakes of nutritious foods such as vegetables, fruit and wholegrain cereals.

Both adults and children seemed to follow the same wrong type of food habits. Irregular food timings and wrong combination, wrong choices of foods are responsible for obesity. Physical work is less and as a result you need to take only the calories needed for your healthy body. It becomes necessary to take food supplements if you suffer from vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Instead of taking multiple supplements, you can take vegan capsules to get all nutrients from a single natural produce. Moringa oleifera leaf powder can be used as a food supplement without any side effects. This can be added to your staple diet for effective weight loss properties.
